Green Wood Works is run by Mervyn Mewis whose interest for woodlands,
trees and timber, has developed into a passion for all things "green wood".
With a background in City and Guilds traditional carpentry as well as more specialised studies including chair and musical instrument-making, Mervyn has made it his mission to pass on the skills which he has gained to ensure the craft of "green wood working" stays alive.
To that end, he built the Green Wood Works barn specifically to enable others to experience and learn this extremely rewarding ancient craft in a relaxed and stunning setting, located in the woodland grounds of the Birtley House Estate, Bramley, Surrey.
